With one of the most popular vacation weeks now underway, those of you hoping for beach weather to spill into this Monday, your wish is granted. If you liked yesterday, you'll like today. The only difference I see is a modest increase in humidity and temperatures run a couple degrees warmer. For those of you stuck in the office… I feel your pain (I don't even have a window in the weather office!). Under a sky of hazy sun and some clouds, highs today run in the mid to upper 80s inland and reach the lower 80s at the coast before the sea breezes kick in and knock temps back into the mid to upper 70s.
Higher humidity surges in here on Tuesday, and with some moisture and a fading warm front approaching from the south, I can't rule out a passing shower/thunder tomorrow. There may even be a passing late morning/midday shower in a few towns. The best chance in the afternoon for storms will be the farther northwest you go, mainly outside 495. A good bet for scattered afternoon/early evening downpours is there from the Lake Region of NH to the Berkshires if your travels take you there.
As a cold front comes plowing into the warm, humid air in place Wednesday, Wednesday midday/afternoon features a decent chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms to fire. The atmosphere is loaded with moisture, so any shower or storm will be capable of producing locally heavy rain. Dew points run near 70 on Tuesday and Wednesday, which indicates a real stuffy feel to the air. With high dew points Tuesday and Wednesday, we'll likely see some low clouds/fog form through Cape/Buzzards Bay/Islands during the overnights and early morning hours.
On the other side of the front, we'll lower the humidity Thursday and watch temps fade back toward seasonal levels to end the week and go into the weekend. The pattern, right now, also looks mainly dry to end the week and head into the weekend.
Have a great day!
