BEDFORD, MASS. (WHDH) - The Bedford Police Department is investigating numerous threats made against Bedford schools Thursday afternoon.

Police do not believe the threats are credible, but steps are being taken out of an abundance of caution.

Around 12:45 p.m., police responded to the high school and the Ross A. Lurgio Middle School to search both buildings and confirm the sites were safe.

Students were evacuated from the schools.

Middle school students were dismissed for the day.

All afternoon activities at the schools were canceled.

Police continue to investigate.
