According to prosecutors, Bella Bond’s mother could face more charges in connection to her death.
Prosecutors have not yet specified what those additional charges may be.
Rachelle Bond, 40, told police her boyfriend, Michael McCarthy, killed Bella by "punching her in the stomach until she stopped breathing."
McCarthy has been charged with murder. Rachelle pleaded not guilty to being an accessory after the fact. Both remain in jail.
The medical examiner has not yet ruled on Bella’s cause of death.
Her body was found inside a trash bag on Deer Island back in June.
