A research team led by scientists at Beth Israel Medical Center in Boston is working on creating a safe and effective vaccine that will prevent the Zika virus.
The team has found two different vaccine candidates that have been successful in mice.
Doctors said they are hopeful the vaccine will work on humans because it is similar to other successful vaccines known to be effective in humans.
Clinical trials in humans have not started yet.
