BILLERICA, MASS. (WHDH) - A woman was arrested Wednesday after police said she stabbed a pizzeria employee with an ice pick.

Police said Barbara Tucker, 57, confronted the man inside Devito Brothers Pizza Wednesday and stabbed him in the back. The alleged attack happened while other people were inside the pizzeria; no one else was hurt.

Tucker’s attorney J. Daniel Silverman said his client was angry after her daughter died Tuesday of a heroin overdose. Silverman said Tucker’s daughter had a relationship with the man at the pizzeria and this was an attempt at vigilante justice.

“She went looking for the person who she thought might have supplied the heroin to her daughter,” said Silverman.

Tucker was charged with attempted murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. She was released on $500 bail and will be monitored with a GPS device. She was also required to undergo a mental health evaluation.
