"The Voice" has its mid-season premiere Monday on NBC and an old coach is returning to her spinning chair.

Jordan Smith not only won the fall season but the singer, coached by Adam Levine, broke the show’s record for song downloads. Currently, that number is at 1.2 million.

The new season begins Monday as the coaches hear a new batch of blind auditions. Returning this season is former coach Christina Aguilera. The coaches said deciding what makes a contestant’s singing can be difficult.

"Something just happens and you don’t know why," said Levine. "That’s why it’s impossible to say why."

"The Voice" airs Monday at 8 p.m. on 7NBC.
