The MSPCA-Cape Cod is trying to find a new home for a blind and elderly Cocker Spaniel that was surrendered when her owner was admitted to a nursing home.
Lassie was surrendered to the MSPCA in Centerville on March 25. She had severe skin and ear infections.
The MSPCA put Lassie on antibiotics to treat the skin and ear issues, and Wednesday her eyes were removed because they were giving her too much pain.
Lassie has been through a lot, but the MSPCA says she is still as loveable as it comes, and now she needs a new home.
The agency spent $3,000 dollars treating Lassie and says it was all money well spent.
Anyone interested in adopting her can contact the MSPCA at capeadoptions@mspca.org.
