WORCESTER, MASS. (WHDH) - The Kraft family has made a life-saving donation to a Worcester hospital.

Patriots owner Bob Kraft cut the ribbon at UMass Memorial Medical Center on a new mobile unit. The specialized van is stocked with equipment to bring care to people struggling with substance abuse. Kraft said it’s a cause he’s more than happy to support.

“Those of us who’ve had certain privileges (need) to make sure that everyone has a chance to have access to good health care,” he said.

“We know that these efforts have a direct impact, not just on the person, but on the family, as it’s a family disease,” said Worcester County District Attorney Joe Early.

Doctors said the van will allow them to reach more patients than ever before.
