LYNNFIELD, Mass. (AP) — Boston Children’s Hospital has fired a pediatric nurse practitioner who police say sent inappropriate messages to a teenage girl on social media.

Police have charged 30-year-old Andrew Reghitto with enticing a child under 16.

Authorities say Reghitto met the Lynnfield girl at his mother’s funeral, and reached out to her through Facebook.

Lynnfield Police Chief David Breen says Reghitto then switched to communicating with the girl on Snapchat and sent her increasingly graphic messages.

Breen says the teen took screenshots to preserve the messages before they disappeared on the app.

Prosecutors say Reghitto has been ordered to surrender his electronic devices and not use social media.

His attorney has not responded to a request for comment.
