Boston College coach Steve Addazio added 26 players to the Eagles’ roster on national signing day, with more than half of them coming from a five-hour radius of the Chestnut Hill campus.

Addazio said it’s important to “build a fence” around the state and win those recruiting battles. He says players who come from the area know what to expect and make an easier transition.

The Eagles added 13 players on offense and 13 on defense. There are two quarterbacks, a running back and four receivers.

Addazio says he hopes they’re all “dudes.” Since taking over at BC in 2013, he has challenged his players to “Be a dude.” And by that, he means hard-working, disciplined and intelligent.
