BOSTON (WHDH) - Boston is opening up cooling centers across the city after declaring a heat emergency for Sunday and Monday.

Temperatures are expected to reach the 90s and heat indices may reach triple digits those two days. Boston Mayor Marty Walsh declared a heat emergency and said 20 centers will be open, but will only be at 40 percent capacity and will have restrictions due to the pandemic.

People using the centers must wear a mask and will be screened before entry, officials said. They must also bring their own water and water bottles and limit belongings to one small bag.
