A Boston man who was traveling through the Brussels airport on Tuesday described a chaotic scene in the immediate aftermath of two bombs detonating in the airport.

"Within about thirty seconds to a minute there was a stampede of people just running through the terminals, which was a cause for concerns," said Tamba Foday.

On Tuesday, bomb attacks at the Brussels airport and a train station killed dozens and injured scores of others. The Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the attacks.

Foday, who is from Hyde Park, was on his way to see family in Sierra Leone when the bombs detonated. Foday was in terminal B when the bombs exploded inside terminal A.

Foday said airport officials told people in the terminal to drop their bags and run after hearing the bombs go off. Foday said officials had found ammunition in the terminal.

Foday realized how lucky he was to avoid injury in the attacks.

"I could have easily been a victim also," Foday said.

Foday said he expects to leave Brussels in a couple of days for Sierra Leone.
