BOSTON (WHDH) - In the wake of the devastation of Hurricanes Ian and Fiona, Cardinal Seán O’Malley has asked for a special collection for assistance on those recovery efforts.
The collection will take place on Oct. 15 and 16 in all parishes in the Archdiocese of Boston.
Funds raised will support the efforts of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops Relief Fund, which will work through local Catholic Charities diocesan agencies. The funds will help provide clean water, food, shelter, medical care and aid in long-term recovery efforts. It’ll also support pastoral and social Church needs in areas affected by the hurricanes.
Parishioners are asked to address their checks to the parish and write “Hurricane Relief” in the memo.
