Boston police find loaded gun in child’s bassinet in Dorchester

Two people were arrested Saturday after Boston Police found a loaded gun in a child’s bassinet in Dorchester.

Officers executed a search warrant in a home on Norfolk Street just before noon.

In addition to the gun, police also found multiple plastic bags containing heroin and cocaine, as well as $1,000.

Police arrested 33-year-old Pedro Valdez of Dorchester and 27-year-old Lasonia Gathers of Dorchester. 

Valdez and Gathers were charged with trafficking Class A drugs, trafficking Class B drugs, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, unlawful possession of a high capacity feeding device, and possession of a firearm with obliterated serial number.
