Boston police officer stops to play baseball with young boy

BOSTON (WHDH) - Boston police shared a photo of a Boston police officer playing baseball with a young boy Tuesday.

A South Boston police officer was on patrol when he noticed a little slugger standing by himself with a bat and ball, and no one to play with.

The officer threw him some balls for some batting practice.

The department said the officer’s actions are the kinds of hands-on community involvement it hopes for every day.
