A 4-year-old Dorchester girl is recovering in the hospital after a Boston Police officer revived her at her home.

The girl’s mother called police Tuesday, saying her daughter was having seizures. Officer Vladimir Levichev arrived and when he saw the girl had stopped breathing, he immediately began performing CPR.

"I think they were wonderful, I think without them, my daughter wouldn’t be here. I applaud them," said the girl’s mother, Vercheesa Thompson.

Firefighters and EMTs brought the girl to Boston Children’s Hospital, where she is recovering.
