Boston Police’s opioid unit is taking new steps to assist those battling addiction get help.
Investigators are now using treatment and prevention as tools to stop the problem, not just arrests.
If the victim survives, they’ll recommend rehab centers and programs that teach overdose protection, offer needle exchanges and provide overdose-reversing drugs.
