MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) — A large fight in a New Hampshire park has led to several arrests and a man hospitalized with a head injury.

Police say the fight broke out at Victory Park in Manchester just before noon Sunday.

Investigators say 40-year-old Steven Carr had gotten into an altercation with a 19-year-old man along with several other people, and the fight spilled into the roadway.

Witnesses told officers that one person brought a baseball bat and struck Carr in the head.

Carr was taken to the hospital with a large laceration on his head.

Police have arrested 6 people, including the 19-year-old, and charged them with rioting. The man who allegedly struck Carr with the bat is also facing a first-degree assault charge.

An investigation is ongoing.
