DERBY LINE, Vt. (AP) — A bridge over Interstate 91 that parallels the Canadian border in the Vermont community of Derby Line is open again to traffic.

The Caswell Avenue bridge just east of the village of Derby Line reopened on Thursday.

It had been closed since April for major renovations.

The Caledonian Record reports the opening ends the detours that created a temporary traffic signal intersection through I-91 south of the port of entry for local traffic.

The bridge renovation coincides with final work on the U.S. port of entry on I-91 in Derby Line. That two-year port-of-entry project is expected to wrap up by the end of this year.
