STANFORD, Calif. (WHDH) — A former Stanford University student convicted of rape will walk free this week after serving just three months in prison.
Brock Turner is being released Friday for good behavior. He was originally sentenced to six months in prison after he was convicted of three felony sexual assault charges.
Turner was found guilty of raping an unconscious woman on Stanford’s campus back in Jaunary 2015. The short sentence he was given sparked outrage across the country and led to calls for the judge in the case to be recalled.
Turner will also serve three years probation.
