BROCKTON, MASS. (WHDH) - Brockton residents are horrified over the news that a teen was sexually assaulted at school Thursday afternoon.

Investigators told 7News that a teenager was attacked in her high school parking lot while school was in session.

Brockton police say the young woman was assaulted by a 44-year-old man just after 12 p.m.

The superintendent of the school said the man was known to the teen and had come to pick her up.

The sexual assault suspect is under arrest and behind bars.

The superintendent released a statement saying in part, “the victim is being supported by school counselors and staff. This is an isolated incident and at no time were other students at risk.”
