BROOKLINE, MASS. (WHDH) - The Brookline Fire Department is being thanked by a local family after they went above and beyond to help them out when their car broke down.
The Noh family with 18-month-old Chloe was on their way to the Stone Zoo when they were stopped by a flat tire. Their car broke down right near Engine 5, where firefighters came out to the rescue.
“It was really hot, it was getting humid and we noticed the child was started to sweat profusely,” said Brookline Fire Capt. Owen Thompson.
The firefighters brought Chloe inside to cool off and get a tour of the fire house. They also helped change the flat tire and get the family back on the road for their zoo trip.
“I know the firefighters are out there for us if any bad things happen, so I really thank them,” said Sungho Noh.
Thompson said he and his fellow firefighters usually meet people on their worst day and they were happy to have a good encounter with residents.
