BOSTON (WHDH) - Bruins legendary duo Brad Marchand and Patrice Bergeron assumed the identities of another iconic pair: Mario and Luigi.
Marchand, Bergeron and several other Bruins stars paid a visit to kids at hospitals throughout Boston, all dressed in Super Mario-themed costumes. Donkey Kong, Toad, Princess Peach and Princess Daisy also made an appearance.
“I think it’s just a special day to be able to go and share a moment with the kids, kids that are going through a lot,” Bergeron said. “To be there and just brighten up their day as much as we can.”
This marks the first year since the pandemic that the tradition has returned.
