BURLINGTON, MASS. (WHDH) - A water main break put a damper on shopping plans at the Burlington Mall.

Doors reopened on Monday morning after the mall was forced to close on Sunday.

The water main break in the mall’s parking lot forced management to close its doors to customers, after spokespeople originally said the mall would open at noon.

Massachusetts Department of Transportation closed an exit off Route 128 as traffic jammed up heading toward the mall.

With the holiday season quickly approaching, many shoppers were left disappointed.

Mall merchants were also frustrated about losing out on the holiday rush.

It was back to business at the mall on Monday.

The holiday rush returned at 9 a.m. when doors opened.
