A California fisherman said he will no longer go shark fishing anymore after he was bitten by a hammerhead off the coast of Malibu.

Dylan Marks was in his kayak when he managed to hook a hammerhead shark. But when he tried pulling out the hook, the shark attacked and bit him.

Marks was able to wrap his foot and flag down a boat. He was then flown to the hospital, where he underwent surgery to repair several broken muscles and ligaments. He will be unable to walk for weeks and said he is thankful that the shark was not vengeful.

Marks said that being bitten by a shark has given him a different perspective. He said he will no longer go shark fishing and will be careful to leave them alone.
