A California family thought they had lost their one-year-old son when flood waters destroyed their home.

Ryan Scarcy and Brian Bennett said the baby traveled about 200 feet from his room past their barbed wire fence in their front yard when a massive flood broke through a wall and washed out the baby and his room.

“We really thought that we lost him,” Scarcy said.

“My friend busted in the living room window and came in through here and he pointed out and he’s like ‘Dude, your son’s over there,’ so I turned around and saw him and he peeked his head out of the mud, ran out and picked him up.”

While they are relieved their son is okay, the family lost everything within minutes.
