It was a close call, but Tim Caputo did just enough to stay unbeaten in the 7News fantasy football league.
Caputo and Jeremy Reiner went toe-to-toe, and though Reiner’s team entered Week 5 at 1-2-1, it was a closer matchup than expected. Reiner’s team put up an impressive 105 points, led by 26 points from Arizona QB Carson Palmer and 18 points from Giants WR Odell Beckham, Jr. But a zero from Buffalo TE Charles Clay put a real damper on the scoring.
It came down to Monday night, as Reiner needed 21 points from Le’Veon Bell to catch Caputo. Bell finished with 18.
In other matchups, Dan Hausle posted the week’s top score with 119 points, easily outpacing Nicole Oliverio’s 69. Joe Amorosino stayed unbeaten at 4-0-1 with a 102-96 victory over Brandon Gunnoe, who falls to 2-3.
Kris Anderson earned a hard-fought 105-96 win over Alex Corddry, but the win came at a cost – he lost Jamaal Charles for the season with a torn ACL.
And Pete Bouchard earned a much-needed second win of the season over Trey Daerr, who has now lost four in a row after winning his season opener.
Bouchard and Nicole Oliverio will face off in Week 6 with both of them hoping to draw even at 3-3 on the year.
