BROOKFIELD, Mass. (AP) — Massachusetts State Police say investigators are trying to figure out what caused a car crash that killed a 27-year-old man in Brookfield.

Emergency workers responding to the crash early Saturday declared Jonathan Bemis of Brookfield dead at the scene.

Authorities say Bemis was driving the car and was alone in the vehicle when it crashed on Rice Corner Cross Road and Lake Road.

Police say experts are trying to figure out the facts and circumstances of the crash.

Investigators are awaiting a report from the state medical examiner's office.

Additional information was not immediately available, including whether investigators believe a second vehicle was involved in the crash.
