A jury began deliberations Tuesday after hearing closing arguments in the case of a white police officer in North Carolina charged with voluntary manslaughter in the death of an unarmed black man.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police officer Randall Kerrick faces up to 11 years in prison if he's convicted. Kerrick's attorneys say the officer feared for his life.

Friday, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer Randall Kerrick's defense team was attempting to play the video of an interview of Officer Adam Neal, who was one of the three officers on the scene as Jonathan Ferrell was shot to death in September 2013 as police responded to a breaking and entering call. But the attorneys ran into difficulties with the video late Friday, leading Judge Richard Ervin to call a recess until Monday.

Kerrick is charged with voluntary manslaughter.
