BOSTON (WHDH) — Boston-based figure skaters Marissa Castelli and Simon Shnapir have won the U.S. Figure Skating Championships in pairs.

Castelli, who is from Cranston, R.I. and Shnapir, who is from Sudbury, have won back to back titles. They were the only ones to score more than 70 points in the short program on Thursday.

The two received a standing ovation from the crowd despite a fall in the beginning and were in awe of the response.

“"We never had a response like that ever and it was just great to be part of that and have our family and friends there and everyone's who's been watching us grow up the last eight, nine years has been there watching us and it was just great,” said Castelli.

The official Olympic team will be announced Sunday.
