Plenty of sunshine for our Sunday (appropriately), but it was still fairly chilly.  These are the days like I like to call "cat on a windowsill" days… because #IMHO it’s nice to be inside soaking up the sun – rather than outside soaking in the chill.  It was a picture-perfect spring day across the interior, with temps topping out in the low 60s.  Coastal areas couldn’t do any better than the upper 40s to about 50°.  It’s worth mentioning though, that when you get in the direct sunlight it can easily feel 5-10° warmer.  The temp readings you see on our graphics are taken OUT of the direct sunlight.

But seriously, let’s get to the FORECAST now… "Bri, tell me what’s AHEAD!"  Well, during the springtime we know we have to take them as they come.  Sunshine is out after today, with clouds moving in overnight.  The cloud cover may not make it in before temps drop into the mid 30s in the ‘burbs, which means patchy frost is a possibility again tonight.  There’s a Frost Advisory issued for SE Mass. through 8am.  Someone asked me on Twitter, "Why isn’t the Merrimack Valley under the Frost Advisory?  Seems like a magnet for frost."  Well, as I explained last night – the NWS only issues the advisory for areas that shouldn’t typically see frost this time of year.  So, just because you’re not under the advisory, that doesn’t mean you’re not going to see frost.  If you have sensitive plants that you’re worried about, just play it safe and bring them in or "tuck them in" before bed (cover them).  Here’s a look at forecast lows:

Tomorrow is mostly cloudy, but temps should still make it into the low 60s (50s at the immediate coastline).  There’s a slight chance for showers tomorrow, but the real wet weather will hold off until Tuesday.  Tuesday looks to be a chilly, breezy and wet day – morning and afternoon.  As Rob Eicher wrote about in his weather blog today, we really could use the rain.  It looks like 0.5-0.75" of precip is on the way for Tuesday.  Highs will struggle to get up to 50°.

April Showers move out in time for Wednesday, and temps will be more "seasonable" as well – meaning, closer to climatological averages… "normal," in other words.  Hard to believe this is the last week of April!  Have a great work week!  – Breezy
