BOSTON (WHDH) - Celtics players became bowling buddies with local families on Tuesday, hosting a surprise Turkey Bowl for women and children from the St. Mary’s Center.

Players, coaches, and families gathered at Brighton Bowl and took turns hitting the lanes and knocking down pins. The Celtics new head coach Joe Mazzulla also attended the event and spent time greeting fans.

Celtics guard Derrick White said he had a blast spending time with the children.

“It is pretty special for all of us just to be here and spend some time, have fun with them its been a lot of fun for us and I hope it makes their day a lot better,” White said.

St. Mary’s Center works with over 500 women and families each year from around the Greater Boston area, providing resources through multiple programs, including housing and education.
