An 11-year old girl has died after a tree fell on her while at an Indiana summer camp.

Two inches of rain fell on the area in just one hour when storms swept through the area early on Tuesday.

The incident was reported at around 2:20 a.m. Tuesday morning after a tree was struck by lightning and fell onto a cabin at Camp Livingston.

Emergency personnel arrived a short time later and discovered that the girl had died as a result of her injuries.

No other children were hurt.

Camp Livingston, which is a summer retreat for Jewish children, has been in operation for more than 90 years.
