Burritos are great, but Chipotle is looking to branch out and try something new – burgers.
According to a filing with the United States Patent and Trademark office, Chipotle’s Denver-based company has applied for a trademark for a new restaurant.
The trademark is for a restaurant called "Better Burger."
A spokesman for the company says the concept was well in the works before the burrito chain was inundated with multiple food-borne illnesses in the past year.
The burger chain won’t be Chipotle’s only venture above and beyond the burrito. The company already has a pizza chain concept called "Pizzeria Locale" and an Asian food concept called "Shophouse."
