WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) — Clark University says three people connected with the school have been killed in a car crash in Haiti.

University President David Angel said Thursday those killed were student Amanda Mundt, her aunt, and Meagan Bell, daughter of Clark professor David Bell. Angel said David Bell was seriously injured in the Wednesday accident. Angel said the university is "devastated."

Mundt, from Amherst, has been on leave for the past academic year to work as an intern with the Institute for Justice and Democracy in Haiti. She was to have returned to Clark this fall for her senior year. Clark said she had won grants to establish and run a summer school for children in Les Cayes, Haiti, in the summer of 2011.

Bell is interim director of Clark's Development, Community and Environment department.
