Callie Hoadley, a junior at Hanover High school, is a true trailblazer. Callie brings students of all abilities together by organizing the Special Olympics events at her school.

Callie rallies students of all abilities to join in unified basketball and unified bocce, along with tons of other activities.

“Callie recruited so many students from the general population that at my last meeting, I had 40 students in attendance,” said Allyson Gately of Friendship Connection.

Callie is also President and Webmaster for Hanover Student Council. She’s also raised funds for the Special Olympic polar plunge.

“They can do anything that we can do, it’s just, sometimes it takes a little longer to pull it out, and they do warm up with you, and they’re awesome people,” said Callie.

This Class Act is all about breaking down differences, making connections and building lasting friendships.

“She is someone who generally cares about everyone around her. It goes beyond her work with our life-skills program,” said her teacher, Stephen Hegarty.

Callie is expanding the unified sports program this spring to include kickball and soccer.
