A drug worked so well for patients with a form of lung cancer in a clinical trial the study was stopped early so all participants could use it.

Merck makes the immunotheraphy drug, called Keytruda.

The drug has previously been shown to extend the lives of people with advanced melanoma.

The latest study involved patients with a specific form of non-small cell lung cancer.

Keytruda was found to work better than chemotherapy and may replace chemo as first-line treatment for some cancer patients.
