COHASSET, MASS. (WHDH) - A cyclist is expected to recover after police in Cohasset say a crash with an SUV sent them through the vehicle’s backseat window.

In a social media post, the police department said an investigation on North Main Street was launched after the crash happened Thursday evening.

According Cohasset PD, preliminary info showed the SUV’s 91-year-old driver allegedly cut into the path of the bike, causing the cyclist, 57, to hit the rear door of the driver’s 2011 Ford Escape.

The resulting crash reportedly sent the cyclist through the SUV’s backseat window, leaving them with what police described as non-life threatening injuries.

The injured party was later brought to South Shore Hospital for treatment.

No details were given on whether the driver may be facing any charges.
