The cold is quite bold this morning, not so much here in New England but certainly in other parts of the nation. Wind chill in Denver, CO is -32. #Winning. Meanwhile, Memphis TN recorded there earliest measurable snow on record (.1″) overnight. Here in New England we are just back to regular Ol November chill…..for now.
Today starts with sun and ends with clouds as we track another cold front dropping out of Canada. This front will sweep across New England tonight and as it does, grab some moisture to go along with it. At first this moisture–arriving between 9p-12am is in the form of rain showers but late at night colder air begins to seep in from that 2nd front. This surge of chilly air will change the rain to snow…first (and easily) in the Worcester Hills, southern N.H. and metrowest and last down by the Canal. For metro Boston this changeover happens right around the Friday AM commute. Needless to say a tricky morning commute as most towns & their roads pick up a coating to perhaps an inch early tomorrow morning. If this were April we’d yawn but it’s been awhile since we’ve dealt with a snowy morning commute so budget in a little extra time for cleaning off the car top & slower than normal commute times. Storm is a fast mover so the sun is out by 10am. Cold despite that sun with afternoon temps only in the low 40s.
Cold & dry for the weekend with overnight lows in the 20s & afternoon highs only near 40. Fear not, this is not winter for the next 4 months….we should warm back into the low 50s by Thanksgiving Week.
