A college student and hockey player from Cohasset died over the weekend after police said he fell off a roof in Delaware.

Will Golden, 20, was alone when witnesses said he fell three stories off the roof of a fraternity house at the University of Delaware in Newark, Delaware. Police said it had just rained and the roof was slippery.

Golden was a freshman hockey player at Skidmore College in New York and was in Delaware visiting a friend. He was a 2014 graduate of Cohasset High School, where he played hockey and lacrosse.

"He was a tremendous athlete and an even better person," said Phil Mahoney, who was Golden’s coach at Cohasset High School. While playing junior hockey after high school, Mahoney said Golden helped coach youth lacrosse.

In a statement, Skidmore College President Philip Glotzbach said "[Will] had already made many connections with students, faculty, staff and teammates who will grieve his loss very deeply."
