BOSTON (WHDH) — Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis could be in line for a big promotion.
There have been reports recently that Davis is a candidate for the next Secretary of Homeland Security. Janet Napolitano, who currently holds the position, recently announced she is leaving in September to take a job in education. When asked about it, Davis said it’s all speculation.
“That’s a very complicated job, a job that’s still evolving. It’s a relatively new cabinet position. It’s something that is a difficult job. I’d have to consider that if in fact it happened, but I’m not going to speculate on that,” said Davis.
President Obama his expected to announce his nomination in the next few weeks.
