The Dallas community continues to mourn the loss of five police officers who were killed in an attack Thursday night.

A makeshift memorial is growing outside the Dallas Police Headquarters just two days after the deadly ambush.

Flowers, candles and posters about love were placed on top of a police vehicle as people paid their respects.

Some became emotional and called for the country to come together despite racial differences.

One man who was seen placing an American flag on the memorial said the murder of innocent police officers and civilians is unacceptable.

President Obama, who called the attack “viscous and despicable”, will cut his European trip short to visit Dallas early next week.
