Manchester police arrested a man after he allegedly tried to point a gun at officers Thursday.

According to police, officers responded to the area of Conant Street and Barr Street for suspicious activity. They found 28-year-old Darian Tyson of Manchester walking on the street.

Police said an officer tried to speak with Tyson, when he reportedly reached for a gun that was tucked into the waistband of his pants.

As Tyson tried to pull the gun out of his pants, the officer tackled him to the ground.

Police recovered a loaded gun with two 30 round magazines.

Tyson was arrested and charged with criminal threatening, resisting arrest/detention, and being a convicted felon in possession of a dangerous weapon.

Officers later learned that he had a warrant out of Massachusetts for a probation violation. He was additionally charged as a fugitive from justice.

Tyson was held at Valley St. Jail on $1,500 bail.
