Record November snowfall has been piling up throughout the Midwest – throwing some of us straight into winter before Thanksgiving is here.  Now, because we often look to our west for many of our storm systems here in NE, it may look as though this winter storm is heading straight for us!  Don’t worry!  That’s not the case.  This particular storm that has brought more than 16" of snow to the suburbs of Chicago will take a turn the NE tonight and take the snow with it.  NO FLAKES for us just yet.  However, this system will mean two things for us:  1) Sunday showers and 2) a cold start to the work-week.

Clouds move in overnight tonight, and morning showers are a possibility.  It looks like scattered showers for points north and west of Boston early on.  While that winter storm pulls to the north, it does drag in some moisture from the south along a front.  This will bring some steadier shower activity for SE Mass, Cape Cod and the Islands during the later hours of Sunday and through Sunday night.  For most of us, rain totals look like less than 0.10"… but for those SE of a Plymouth-Providence line, it could be between 0.50 to an inch of rain.  Again, it’s RAIN… NOT snow.  The rest of the week looks dry through next Saturday.

Temps are mild for us again tomorrow, into the mid 50s for most.  But behind the front that moves through will be some MUCH colder air.  We’ll have morning lows in the low 20s and even some teens for Monday-Tuesday, and afternoon highs will top out around 40°!  That’s 10 degrees below "normal" for this time of year!

It’s a big week ahead; full of friends, family, celebrations, travel and eating!  Something to be thankful for?  Thanksgiving travel is looking dry and quiet, really across almost all of the U.S.  One exception to that would be some rain and high-elevation snow in the Intermountain NW on Wednesday, but most of the big airports shouldn’t see any delays due to weather.  With that said, we all know that holiday travel requires us all to pack our patience!  Mother Nature is in the kitchen cooking up some milder temps for Thanksgiving… and the leftovers that last into Friday could take some spots into the low 60s!  Have a great weekend.  – Breezy
