Wish you could bottle up yesterday’s weather and save it for a bunch more days ahead? Yah, me too. It was quite nice to have temps in the 60s to lower 70s with some sunshine and a light breeze.
For a while, the weather works out ok today, however, a few scattered showers and maybe even a rumble of thunder slides in this afternoon. North and west of 495, a few of these showers may pop by 2:00 or 3:00PM, however, inside 495, the thinking is that it remains dry until after 3:00PM with the highest chance of showers/thunder running through eastern Mass anytime after 5:00 or 6:00PM. A few of these showers linger this evening before drying out overnight. While I don’t expect severe thunderstorms, the atmosphere upstairs is quite cold, and that may allow for a couple towns to pick up some graupel (small pieces soft hail) and gusty winds in a few of the more intense showers, especially over western Mass.
We’ll reach the low to mid 60s today with a gusty southerly breeze developing by this afternoon.
The showers later today are with a front and on the other side of that cold front, cooler air prevails. Not only for tomorrow, but for much of this upcoming week and weekend ahead as an upper level low parks itself just to our north. That’ll allow cool air to pinwheel in from Canada, keeping afternoon temps in the mid to upper 50s. There will be just a touch of instability from Thursday, through the weekend, and that’ll allow for an isolated afternoon shower to pop once and a while, but overall, expect many more dry hours than wet to end the week and head into the weekend.
Next week… it looks cool again with perhaps more rain mid-late week.
