NORWICH, Conn. (AP) — A juvenile is facing charges after police say an argument led to the individual pulling out a flare gun pistol and firing it at another youth in Norwich.

City police say five juveniles were involved in a disturbance early Sunday when the shooting happened. The victim was not injured in the altercation. The flare hit a nearby house and sparked a fire that went out on its own.

Police say the juvenile who fired the flare gun was arrested and charged with unlawful discharge of a firearm, first-degree reckless endangerment, reckless burning, third-degree criminal mischief and carrying a dangerous weapon.

Police say the juvenile was released to a parent and is due in court in Waterford at a later date.
