BOSTON (WHDH) - A corrections officer has been charged with having sexual contact with a female inmate.

Marlon Juba, 29, was arraigned in South Boston Municipal Court on Thursday after he was arrested Wednesday.

Juba is a corrections officer at the South Bay House of Corrections.

He was been under investigation since early June.

According to prosecutor, Juba was seen on surveillance video entering the inmate’s cell. He is also accused of passing sexually explicit notes, handwritten and on an iPhone, to the victim.

The inmate told police he had sex with Juba.

There is also a separate ongoing investigation into the officer for smuggling drugs, food and cell phones into the house of corrections.

His attorney said the allegations are false and shocking.

More charges could be filed.

He is being held on $20,000 cash bail and is set to return to court in August.
