PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Newly public police records in Bill Cosby’s criminal sex-assault case show his accuser planned to confront him weeks after their 2004 encounter but backed off when he got too close to her.
Andrea Constand tells police she “just wanted to confront him about it and ask some questions.” But Constand instead waited a year before telling her mother and then police.
Cosby was arrested last year after the case was reopened amid similar complaints from other women.
Excerpts of their 2005 police statements were read aloud in court last week when the charges were upheld. The full statements were posted in court files Thursday.
Cosby says the pair had three prior “romantic” encounters. Constand says she rejected those “advances” before she was drugged and molested.
No trial date has been set.
