Two grocery store staples are expected to get more expensive because of production problems.
Lettuce prices are now on the rise because diseases have taken a toll on the lettuce crop in California, where most of the country’s lettuce is grown. Prices have already surged nearly 20 percent this year.
Orange juice prices are also skyrocketing, as Florida’s orange crops are becoming more limited due to disease and extreme weather, including hurricanes.
Consumers will likely see an impact in the price of orange juice over the next three to six months.
