My colleague, Bri, was working on a weather graphic yesterday highlighting days until "enter event here"….IE…Days left of meteorological summer…Days until Pats opener…I even saw on twitter yesterday a tweet from the Today Show…100 days until the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at 30 Rock…..so I will continue that theme within this blog…….1 more day of excessive humidity!
That’s right, it’s been about 7-10 days of this high humidity and this will be it for this week (but not for summer). In order to get the snappy air in here we’ll have to go through some active weather….#ScatteredStorms. It’s a cool front that will crawl through New England during the day. This front is already popping showers & storms out in the Berkshires and they, like the front, will crawl eastward today. Due to this slow moving front I think the highest chance of storms will be across western/central MA (Fitchburg..Worcester…Groton…Mendon). A few storms are possible in metrowest/Merrimack valley while along the coast you are more likely to stay dry than get storms. This includes Boston as well as the beaches and much of SE MA. Some of the storms west of I-495 may include some strong wind gusts as well as brief heavy rain & frequent lightning.
In any event, the cool front slides offshore tomorrow morning ushering in much more comfortable air that will stick around for the remainder of the week.
The weekend is just 4 days away.
